Bournemouth Water is marking World Refill Day, an annual campaign encouraging people to reduce single-use plastic by encouraging people to refill reusable bottles with tap water.
To support this, the company is providing free water refill stations at key festivals and events across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole this Summer, helping thousands of people stay hydrated sustainably.
This year, the company has already provided free water at Bournemouth 7's festival and Bournemouth University Summer Ball and is continuing its efforts at upcoming gatherings including:
- Bourne Free PRIDE Festival - Meyrick Park, Bournemouth from 11 and 12 July 2025
- Bournemouth Reggae Weekender - Kings Park Drive, Bournemouth from 25 to 27 July 2025
- New Forest Marathon - New Park Showground, Brockenhurst on 14 September 2025.
By making refilling reusable bottles easy and accessible for people, Bournemouth Water is helping to reduce waste and promote the value of clean, local tap water.
World Refill Day, held annually on June 16, serves as a powerful reminder that refilling a reusable water bottle instead of buying single-use plastic bottles can help prevent tonnes of plastic waste from ending up in landfill or polluting the region’s rivers, beaches and countryside.
Alongside its refill initiatives, Bournemouth Water continues to support customers to adopt simple habits at home and outdoors that help reduce water use.
From fixing leaky taps and toilets to reusing leftover water in gardens, small everyday changes can significantly reduce demand on water supplies, especially during the warmer months.
