Bournemouth Water is supporting this year’s Bourne Free Pride Festival by providing vital hydration to thousands of festivalgoers through its free water refill stations.

Now one of the most anticipated events in the town’s calendar, Bourne Free, which is held annually, is an LGBTQ festival which celebrates diversity, inclusion, and community.

With its vibrant parades, live music, performances, and educational programming, the festival, which takes place on July 10 and 11 this year, attracts thousands of people from Bournemouth and beyond.

As temperatures rise during the summer months, access to free, clean drinking water becomes essential. To help keep the event safe, sustainable, and enjoyable for everyone Bournemouth Water is supplying six 1000-litre free drinking water refill stations which will be placed strategically around the Lower Gardens and festival grounds to ensure easy access for all attendees.

They not only help visitors to stay hydrated but also support eco-friendly, plastic-free hydration, encouraging people to use refillable bottles and reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles.

Kevin Jenn, Asset and Area Manager at Bournemouth Water said: “We are proud to support Bourne Free for a fourth time with our free water refill stations, and also help to reduce plastic waste at the same time.

“Access to clean water is a basic need, and during large-scale events like this, it can make a real difference to safety and sustainability.”

James Dixon-Box, Vice Chair of the Bourne Free Pride Festival added: “Offering free water to our visitors is vital in keeping everyone safe during our event.

“Bournemouth Water have been donating water stations to our event for years now. As a charity, I just don’t know what we would do without them. They make it so easy for us – delivery, placement and collection.”
