About PayPoint

PayPoint makes it easy to pay your bill with cash. In our supply area there are more than 100 PayPoint outlets in newsagents, convenience stores and garages. They all stay open late.

How it works

You will need a Bournemouth Water payment card to use PayPoint for your water bills.

Apply for a Bournemouth Water PayPoint payment card

We will set the payment amount, depending on whether you want to pay weekly, fortnightly, monthly or yearly. Then all you have to do is follow these three simple steps:

  1. Take your Bournemouth Water PayPoint payment card to any PayPoint outlet. 
  2. Hand your payment card to the cashier, together with the cash you want to pay.
  3. You will receive a receipt and your water account will be credited within two working days.

What is the minimum amount I can pay?

£2 per payment at a PayPoint outlet.

Is there a charge for using a Bournemouth Water card?

No, it’s free, although we may charge for replacement cards.

What if I already have an instalment plan?

Your instalment plan will continue as normal and your payment schedule will remain the same. PayPoint makes it more convenient for you to pay your instalments.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Please contact us immediately so we can make an arrangement with you. If you don’t contact us we will send reminders. If you ignore the reminders, we may have to take legal action.

How long does it take for my payment to appear on the account?

Your payment will appear within two working days.

How are my payments spread?

Your instalment plan sets the minimum monthly amount. With PayPoint you can pay as much as you like, whenever you like, provided you meet your monthly minimum.

For example, if your instalment plan is for £20 per month, you could pay in different ways:

  • in one go on or before the date it is due
  • in several transactions e.g. £5 a week before the date it is due
  • in advance, by paying more, to get ahead of your schedule

What if I lose the card?

If you lose your card, please contact us immediately to arrange for a new one to be sent to you. We may charge a fee for this.

Is my Bournemouth Water card a credit card?

No. This card is only for making PayPoint payments.

Can I use this card to pay other utility bills?

No. This card can only be used for your Bournemouth Water bill. But you can use PayPoint to pay other utility bills with other cards.
