Water charges

Wholesale charges scheme

How you are charged

Metered customers

Most business customers have a water meter. This means you are charged according to the amount of water you use, plus a standing charge.

Water use is measured in cubic metres. One cubic metre = 1,000 litres.

Unmetered customers

If you don't have a meter, your annual bill is based on the rateable value of your property and is not related to your water use.

Standing charge

All customers pay a standing charge to cover the cost of maintaining the water infrastructure.

Assessed charge

If a meter cannot be installed, due to complex pipework, for example, an assessed charge based on estimated water use will be made.
