SEMBCORP Bournemouth Water (SBW) is hoping to make a splash with its latest sponsorship.
The company has agreed to sponsor Bournemouth University Boat Club (BUBC) for the current academic year.
BUBC's men's squad competes at national events across the country including Head of the River and the Henley Royal Regatta.
The women's squad also takes part in major races including the Women's Eights Head of the River and the Henley Women's Regatta.
BUBC, which has eight crews, was named by the National Union of Students as Best Sports Club of the Year in 2014.
Roger Harrington, SBW's Managing Director, described the company's sponsorship as 'a perfect fit.'
He added: "Our debt and credit management team has worked closely with the Students' Union at Bournemouth University for the past few years on various initiatives to raise awareness among students of their social responsibility to pay water bills, which benefits all those who do pay.
"This sponsorship further strengthens one of our most valued ongoing relationships and, of course, the link with water is a perfect fit.
"As a company, we try wherever possible to back organisations and initiatives that promote youth development, education and health. We wish BUBC every success in the coming months."
Andy Elsey, Sales Executive, Students' Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU), said: “This partnership is another great example of how businesses can support students at Bournemouth University engaging in activities and sports whilst giving their organisation opportunities to educate and reinforce their brand values in this vibrant community.”
SBW supplies drinking water to approximately half a million people in parts of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
The company supplies over 187,500 households and 16,000 businesses through a system of seven major treatment works and a network of about 2,800 kilometres of water main.
