06th March 2013

Long standing supporter Sembcorp Bournemouth Water (SBW) has further strengthened its links with children's hospice Julia's House.

Long standing supporter Sembcorp Bournemouth Water (SBW) has further strengthened its links with children's hospice Julia's House.

The water supply company has funded the purchase of a TV screen for the charity's Wimborne shop.

The equipment will allow the shop, in Eastbrook Row, to promote events and fundraising activities to customers.

Caroline Gogan, Corporate Fundraiser, said: "We are always looking at new ways to get our message across to local communities and improve our communications.

"The TV screen will enable us to make our shop customers more aware of the service we offer to Dorset families."

SBW is a keen supporter of Julia's House and regularly backs staff taking part in fundraising activities ranging from dragon boat races and abseiling challenges through to charity soccer matches and runs.

It has also provided bottled water for the charity's 'Superheroes' event and other hospice runs.

Sharnine Coleman, Head of Communications, said: "Julia's House does a wonderful job and we're very pleased to further support its work as part of our ongoing, long-term relationship with the charity."

Julia's House, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, is Dorset's only hospice dedicated to children with life-limiting conditions. The majority of the children cared for are unlikely to live beyond the age of 18.

The charity needs to raise £3.4 million this year. Less than ten per cent of its funding comes from the Government.
