If a pipe bursts

You should:

  • turn off your water supply at the stopcock (usually near a kitchen or utility sink or in your garage)
  • turn off the boiler
  • turn on all your taps to drain the system quickly
  • soak up or block off escaping water with towels
  • call a plumber – we support the WaterSafe scheme
  • switch off all electrical appliances that may be affected

Don’t forget to turn off all the taps to prevent more flooding once the pipe is repaired.
